They’re known for their gorgeous looks and perfect bodies but in the early hours of Wednesday the Victoria’s Secret Angels had to compete with the stunning setting of Paris for a dramatic photo shoot.

Alessandra Ambrosio, Lily Aldridge, Behati Prinsloo Adriana Lima, and Karlie Kloss braved the chilly temperatures to slip into some lingerie to shoot at the Louvre.

The group struck poses at the world famous landmark in huge pairs of angel wings for the Christmas ad campaign.

With decades of modelling between them the girls have no doubt seen their fair share of tricky shoots, and like true pros they showed no sign of complaining about the tough conditions.

Battling freezing temperatures, the girls were strapped into pairs of heavy angel wings as they posed on balconies and walked through the deserted streets in little more than lingerie and heels.

The models seemed to be loving their time shooting the Christmas campaign though as they huddled up together under blankets in between shots and shared some laughs.

Alessandra was spotted in a striking red lingerie set, showing off her toned abs.

Karlie and Behati teamed up for another series of photos with Miss Kloss looking gorgeous in a nude and black lace body and suspenders with her short locks styled into a bob.
 


Lily meanwhile looked every inch the Angel in her pretty white lingerie set and gold lined wings.

At one point the group were seen striking their best poses behind a gate in the Lourve grounds.

The group kept their Twitter fans around the world up to date with their progress with Alessandra tweeting: ‘Early wake up call in the City of Light!!!’

Behati revealed just what a long night it was when she posted: ‘7am and that's a wrap people.’

Karlie in particular must have been feeling weary following her hectic time at New York Fashion Week a few days ago.

Karlie is one of the few Victoria's Secrets girls to make it to the catwalk, and the six foot tall model is certainly making the most of her opportunity.

The 21-year-old was seen dashing between shows last week as she walked for the likes of DKNY, Jason Wu and Cuchie er Ochs.

Meanwhile Karlie will team up with her fellow Angels once again for the famous 2013 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, set to air December 10 on CBS.

Whilst Karlie, Adriana, Alessandra, Lily and Behati are all confirmed to be strutting their stuff there’s a few familiar faces missing from this year's line-up, most notably long-time Runway Angel Miranda Kerr.

The 30-year-old was the first Australian Victoria's Secret Angel when she was signed back in 2007, replacing Gisele Bündchen.

Miranda had already been chosen to become the successor of Alessandra Ambrosio as the face of PINK in 2006 and she fast became known as the most recognisable Victoria's Secret poster girl.

However, the brunette announced in April that she was streamlining her Victoria's Secret duties to focus on being a mother to her son Flynn.

And as for Brit favourites Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn, it is yet to be revealed whether they will walk again. The two are not official Victoria's Secret Angels, but were made Runway Angels when they walked in last year's catwalk show.
