Dressed in a black blue two-piece with gold military detailing, he completed the look with patent leather shoes, worn without socks for added style.
Robbie is accompanied by a brass band dressed as sailors as he croons and commands his ship which carries a Union Jack flag.
The singer is seen passing through the sunny sights of LA as saxophone players add to the melody.
Unusual sight: The singer made a few people stop and stare as he made his way through the city abroad a boat on dry land
Perfect backdrop: The star passed the iconic Capitol Records building in Hollywood
At one point Robbie breaks into a whistle and proceeds to wave at the crowds before blowing a kiss at the end of the video.
The track is taken from Robbie’s forthcoming album, Swings Both Ways, which is the anticipated follow-up to his 2001 swing album.
Robbie explained his motivation behind the album: ‘First of all, I wanted to do a swing album because I wanted to do a swing album. I always knew I'd do another and I think now is the perfect time to do it. ‘It's different - it's not all covers. I had some songs that I wanted the world to hear and check out and maybe become part of the fabric of their lives, if I'm lucky enough, that I've had a hand in writing.
An officer and a gentleman: The 39-year-old look every inch the dashing captain with slicked back hair and a dark blue marine officer's uniform
I'm the king of the world... Again: The track is taken from Robbie's forthcoming album, Swings Both Ways, which is the anticipated follow-up to his 2001 swing album
'So it's very, very similar to the last one, and very different - and hopefully I'm off to romance the world.’
The album features covers and original songs, in addition to duets with Michael Buble, Olly Murs, Rugus Wainright, Lily Allen and Kelly Clarkson.
It has also seen Robbie reunite with songwriter Guy Chambers on six new songs including a track called No One Likes a Fat Pop Star.
Go Gentle will be released on November 11, while the album Swings Both Ways is released on November 18.
