Swapping Blue Jeans for glamour: Lana Del Rey channels Jacqueline Kennedy in stylish new music video for single National Anthem





Whenever she's off duty she's often seen going for a more casual look, while she's already sung about Blue Jeans.


But Lana Del Rey has ditched her chilled out style as she unveils the music video for her new single National Anthem.

The singer has now premiered the promo online as she channels former First Lady of America Jackie O, aka Jacqueline Kennedy.

Lana, 26, is dressed in head to toe glamour in the music video, while collaborator A$AP Rocky portrays President Kennedy.


She can be seen in black and white wearing a silver gown with her hair in a 1960s beehive and fake lashes on.

Throughout the clip momentum picks up as flashbacks in colour are given, with Lana at one point tenderly touching and smelling some bright flowers.

And Lana has admitted she's pleased with the results of the Anthony Mandler-directed video.

She told BBC Radio 1: 'Every so often, I top what I've done, and this video is definitely the most beautiful thing I've ever done.





New track: Lana is set to release the single next month and has spoken of her delight at creating the promo for it

'I wrote a treatment for me and A$AP Rocky, because I just thought he'd be really perfect to star in it. ... I love it.'

But A$AP Rocky in convinced fans won't truly understand the video just yet.

He added: 'We did a video together... some swag s**t. I play JFK, she plays Jackie O. Some cool, trippy s**t... People gonna get it in like three years, and that's the whole purpose of it.'

The single is due to be released on 8 July as a follow up to Video Games and Blue Jeans off her debut album Born To Die.
