Sneak peak: Girls Aloud release a teaser of their long-awaited comeback... as upcoming single Something New is leaked online

They're about to make their long-awaited comeback after a three-year hiatus as a group.


And Girls Aloud have now treated their fans to a sneak peak at what appears to be their brand new video.


Cheryl Cole, Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts are seen wearing matching bright orange tulip-skirt dresses as they march away from the camera on a monochrome set.

With even their locks teased into matching top knot styles, it would seem the Love Machine hitmakers are back to their girlband best, with no detail overlooked.



The group were evidently hoping the teaser clip would be enough to satisfy their fans' needs until they make an official announcement on Friday, where they are expected to confirm a Greatest Hits album and tour.

However, their excitement will no doubt have been somewhat dampened by their upcoming track, entitled Something New, already having been leaked on the internet.

Although it is not known whether the single is a demo or indeed the finished product, it features all five girls singing and semi-rapping over what appears to be a club-style beat.


With the band members counting down to Girls Aloud's official announcement on their respective Twitter pages, Cheryl had previously teased the lyrics to the new track.


She wrote: 'I just wanna dance.'


Meanwhile, Nadine seemed thrilled with the reaction the group had received from fans so far.


She said: 'I am so glad you like it so far! You all didn't know we did that right? So many secrets! Evil laugh. Hahahahaha.'




Pop princesses: Girls Aloud annonced their hiatus in 2009 after 20 consecutive top 10 singles, two number one albums and a BRIT Award

The band broke in to the pop industry following their win on reality show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.


The five-piece have enjoyed three number one singles and a further 16 top 10 hits over their seven years in the charts.

Their last single release, Untouchable, was their lowest-charting single, reaching no.11 in UK charts in April 2009.

Their six albums have sold more than 1.8million copies in the UK, their most successful being their greatest hits disc The Sound Of Girls Aloud, which has been certified 3x platinum.

When they first went on hiatus in 2009, it was initially thought they would return to the music scene after a year, their break was subsequently extended to three years.


Cheryl Cole has been far and away the success story of the group, bagging a judging role on The X Factor, a brief stint on the US version of the talent show and a cameo role in Hollywood movie, What To Expect When You're Expecting.


Meanwhile, she has become a successful pop princess in her own right, with three solo albums - two of which hit the number one spot - to date, as well as seven singles and a UK tour.

Since announcing her break from the band, Kimberley Walsh went on to star in Shrek: The Musical, dabble with a spot of TV presenting, and hooking up with rapper Aggro Santos for a top 10 hit, as well as appearing in the current series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Nicola Roberts launched a brief solo career before turning her talents to songwriting, concentrating on her Dainty Doll make-up range and working on fashion reality show Styled To Rock most recently.

Nadine Coyle's solo career failed to take off with her debut single not even making the UK top 40. The star has since spent most of her time in the US, where she owns and runs an Irish-themed bar.


Finally, Sarah Harding dabbled in a spot of acting but has mainly made headlines for her somewhat turbulent personal life, which saw her enter a rehabilitation facility in 2011.
